Pittsburgh, PA (June 14, 2024) — Life’sWork of Western PA is honored to have received a grant from the DSF Charitable Foundation in support of its work to empower all people to live the life they choose. For nearly a century, Life’sWork of Western PA (Life’sWork) has embraced a commitment to serving individuals who face challenges to employment, whether by virtue of an inherent disability or because of other barriers, such as economic disadvantages or gaps in skills. Life’sWork is dedicated to building pathways to employment, fostering self-confidence, and developing skills for individuals who desire to work and need support to secure employment.
DSF Charitable Foundation funds will go to increasing the ability of Life’sWork to serve the over 1,500 clients it assists each year through expansion of its supported competitive employment project. The primary focus of this funding will be to provide for additional staff to drive the expansion of Life’sWork efforts in both supported employment for adults and the Life’sWork Pre-Employment Transition Services program. DSF Charitable Foundation’s generous support will ensure sustainability of programming and that the Life’sWork focus on breaking down barriers to employment continues to result in more individuals achieving long-term independence and self-sufficiency.
