ittsburgh, PA (June 14, 2024) — Life’sWork of Western PA has received a grant from the Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation to provide those from all walks of life with the opportunity for employment. For nearly a century, Life’sWork of Western PA (Life’sWork) has embraced a commitment to serving individuals who face challenges to employment, whether by virtue of an inherent disability or because of other barriers, such as economic disadvantages or gaps in skills. Life’sWork is dedicated to building pathways to employment, fostering self-confidence, and developing skills for individuals who desire to work and need support to secure employment.
Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundationgrant fundswill be used to implement the pilot phase of the Life’sWork Workforce Development Training program, helping individuals to obtain the skills they need to pursue employment and become self-sufficient, contributing members of their communities. The program will provide skills development training in areas such as computer skills, hotel housekeeping, and hospitality services through classes designed to ensure individuals are ready to work in the community. In addition, grant funds will be used toward the purchase of equipment for each class module and to provide tuition assistance.
