Pittsburgh, PA (December 17, 2024) — Life’sWork of Western PA has received a generous grant from Massey Charitable Trust for use in new, state-of-the-art Vocational Skills Development Lab. Through collaboration with Life’sWork, its partners, and career industries, the Vocational Skills Development Lab opened earlier this year to provide training in six different industries. The lab promotes pride and self-confidence while providing training in both physical and cognitive skills and can be modified to meet each client’s individual needs. Massey Charitable Trust has generously given to Life’sWork in the past, but this marks its first gift for use in the Vocational Skills Development Lab.
“We are grateful that Massey Charitable Trust understands the difference our new Skills Lab will make in our community,” says Timothy Parks, president and chief executive officer of Life’sWork. “The Trust’s dedication to ensuring all people have access to the opportunities they need to overcome various barriers to employment is critical in assuring Life’sWork can accomplish our goal and realize our vision of a compassionate, inclusive, and equitable community where all have an opportunity to thrive.”
