Life’sWork of Western PA Annual Client Celebration a Rousing Success

Life’sWork of Western PA Annual Client Celebration a Rousing Success

Pittsburgh, PA (July 15, 2024) — Life’sWork of Western PA (Life’sWork) hosted its annual Client Celebration in late May. The annual festivities celebrate the dedicated and resilient clients who have transformed their challenges into triumphs and honor clients’ “unwavering commitment and tireless efforts” to being truly remarkable individuals. It is an annual day dedicated to recognizing the power of persistence and determination. This year’s celebration did not disappoint.

Held on May 23, 2024, at the Vietnam Veterans Pavilion, the annual event included food, music, games, and a reception. From the opening remarks by Life’sWork President and CEO Timothy Parks, to the delicious food provided by J&J Smokehouse BBQ: Soulfood Catering and StrEat Food Catering, attendees celebrated their accomplishments alongside family, friends, and Life’sWork employees. Honorary guest Chris Hoke, a former tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers, gave an entertaining and motivational speech, and face painting by Life’sWork employees and University of Pittsburgh students particularly delighted the clients and children in attendance. Musical entertainment was provided by Band Together Pittsburgh.

“The Client Celebration is always a highlight of our year,” said Parks. “Our clients work hard all year long, and to celebrate how far they’ve come and the successes they’ve accomplished is something we love to do. It really motivates us to ensure we are providing the services necessary to help our clients achieve their goals and even dream beyond them.”

In addition to celebrating clients, the annual event allows Life’sWork to recognize those in the organization who are celebrating milestone years of service. This year, Life’sWork was especially excited to honor Ed O’Rourke who is retiring for over 38 years of dedicated service. His contributions have left an indelible mark on Life’sWork and the residents of Western Pennsylvania. As he embarks on new adventures and some well-earned relaxation, Life’sWork used the celebration event to wish him well.

Life’sWork wishes to thank its board of directors for their dedication and contributions throughout the year. In addition, Life’sWork thanks the following people and organizations for their support of the 2024 Client Celebration:

  • Band Together Pittsburgh
  • Cunning Folk Films
  • Eat’n Park
  • Fonseca Family
  • Chris Hoke
  • J&J Smokehouse BBQ: Soulfood Catering
  • John’s Funky Inflatables
  • Pittsburgh: A Most Livable City
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Roaming Hunger
  • StrEat Food Catering
  • University of Pittsburgh student volunteers

While the 2024 Client Celebration is over, Life’sWork employees and clients are already hard at work on reaching their goals for next year. It promises to be another year to celebrate big accomplishments.
