Pittsburgh, PA (June 20, 2024) — Life’sWork of Western PA will officially welcome four new board members effective July 1, 2024. Each board member will serve a three-year term. Life’sWork is honored that these individuals have chosen to give their tremendous talents, time, and dedication to serve on the Life’sWork Board of Directors.

The following individuals will be joining the Life’sWork Board of Directors:

Andrew Fee, current vice president of strategic partnerships for Special Olympics Pennsylvania. Fee has extensive experience working in athletics at the collegiate, community, and Special Olympics levels. He has also served for the past 14 years as the umpire-in-chief for the Pittsburgh region of USA Softball, overseeing all softball umpires for USA Softball in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Kevin Meacham is a partner at the Nelson Mullins Law Firm. Meacham received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh and specializes in commercial litigation and business torts. He also has a robust pro bono practice, which includes representing clients in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit involving First Amendment and immigration issues.

Shannon Prentiss serves as the dean of student affairs for The Neighborhood Academy, a college preparatory private school located in Pittsburgh, and describes herself as “deeply committed to equal access to quality education and assessing/addressing systematic barriers, policies, and process that make this challenging.” In addition to her work with The Neighborhood Academy, Prentiss also serves on the board of directors for Foster Love Project, a Wilkinsburg-based nonprofit organization that provides support for children and foster families.

Vidya Surti recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh David C. Frederick Honors College. She is currently a Coelho Law Fellow at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Surti is deeply engaged with disability access and inclusion throughout the Pittsburgh community. In addition to her new role on the Life’sWork board, she serves as a member of the Mayor’s City Council Task Force on Disabilities.

“We are excited to welcome these four incredible people to our board of directors,” says Timothy Parks, president and chief executive officer of Life’sWork. “We cannot wait to see the positive impact they will make on our mission and in our community in their new roles. We are extremely fortunate to have such a strong board, and the addition of Andrew, Kevin, Shannon, and Vidya only makes us stronger.”

The new board members officially start July 1 and join a board committed to ensuring Life’sWork succeeds in its vision to ensure everyone can share in opportunities for meaningful employment by strengthening workplace abilities, building life skills, and developing meaningful relationships.
